SUMMARY:Sign Regulations Update Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The City and Development Services staff are beginning the process of updating the City's Zoning and Subdivision Regulations. These regulations are the foundation for development and redevelopment across the City. The Staff at Development Services is determined to update our local regulations to use best practices that maintain our community's safety\, and character\, have the regulations be easy to understand and use\, and make the development process as streamlined as possible. The first stop in this project is to update the City's Sign Regulations (Sec. 34-309). These regulations specifically address the time\, place\, and manner for permanent and temporary signs throughout the community. The basis behind these regulations is maintaining the City's quality character and safety in our residential and commercial areas.\n\nThe Staff is striving to be transparent throughout the process and seek input from stakeholders from across the community. To that end\, we would like to invite you to one of two stakeholder meetings for Hastings Chamber businesses on March 18th at 8:30 am at the Hastings Airport\, 3300 W. 12th Street\, OR on March 26th at 5:30 pm at the Hastings Airport\, 3300 W. 12th Street. At this meeting\, we want to hear about your ideas on signs and any issues that you may have with the current Sign Regulations (Sec. 34-309). The information gathered at this meeting will help City staff be able to draft quality sign regulations for the City appropriately.\n\nPlease use the links below to RSVP to one of the stakeholders' meetings.
