Bring science to life while falling in love with trees at the Hastings Museum Join us on Thursday, October 1st from 9:30 am to 2 pm for an unbe-leaf-ably fun-filled field trip! This educational festival geared towards grades 2-4 will feature hands-on stations with learning activities from Project Learning Tree presented by various partner organizations. All activities will focus on trees: their importance for people, ecosystems, and conservation. Students will have the opportunity to re-create a tree’s life cycle, dig into a fallen log, work cooperatively as parts of a tree to discover how it functions, explore trees as habitats, investigate owl pellets, and more! All stations at Tree Jamboree are aligned to Nebraska State Standards in Science, English-Language Arts, Social Studies, and Math as well as the Next Generation Science Standards. Students and teachers will also be able to explore the Museum and nearby arboretum during the day. Limited space is available. Make sure this tree-rrific field trip is on your calendar.
