Big G ACE Hardware is 1 of 4,600 Ace Hardware stores owned and operated independently. Big G ACE has remained small and very personal over the years. They offer a wide variety of paint, lawn and garden, tools, local niche services and virtually anything you'll ever need to fix, repair and maintain your home.
Over 4,600 of Aces 4,700 stores around the globe are independently owned and operated by local entrepreneurs. These hard working men and women are part of the fabric of your community. They are small business owners who are local and loyal... just like it ought to be.
Big G ACE Hardware was born in 1961 and was located on the southwest corner of Second & Kansas streets in downtown Hastings. Big G ACE Hardware operated as a complete retail hardware store until 1987, at which time a decision was made to open a ''Commercial Division''. This division was housed within the hardware store. Big G ACE Hardware served hundreds of retail and commercial customers. As they grew over the years, it became quite apparent that we could no longer fit inside the current building. On February 14th, 2002 it was announced that Big G ACE Hardware had purchased the former ShopKo building north of Hastings. After five fast and furious months of planning & preparing, the move was made by the staff & friends of Big G to 3203 Osborne Drive West. The move was started on Thursday evening and by Monday morning, July 1st, 2002, Big G was open to serve their faithful customers. At that time, they added a lumber division and changed their name to Big G ACE as it currently is.
